Art Exhibits, Quilt Show, and Photography Contest for Pine Bluff This Fall

Posted on August 29, 2018November 10, 2018 By Karen Coker No Comments on Art Exhibits, Quilt Show, and Photography Contest for Pine Bluff This Fall

Art exhibits, a juried photography exhibition, and a quilt show (with viewer-voted awards) are among the big variety of Pine Bluff happenings this fall.  PB Junction also published the music performances scheduled this month; crafts, genealogy, driver’s permit prep, plus some; and outdoor activities; there’s a lot to choose from these days!

All these events are in September except for the juried photography exhibition and the quilt show.  The quilt show’s entry deadline is about a week into October, and the actual show is just a couple days afterward (more below).  Then the juried photography exhibition has a due date for photograph entries on November 1; the exhibit itself will be in 2019.  Still, those interested in participating need to know about it now.

Details are below, with links to hosting organizations for more information (e.g., policies and possible schedule changes).  The list of events includes some contact information; more can be found near the end of this post under Hosting Organizations.

Art Exhibits: Entry Deadlines and Current Exhibits

In this section are deadlines for a juried photography exhibition and a viewer-choice-award quilting show that participants need to know now, hence their spot at the top. Also, consider some of the ongoing art exhibits in town.

Acknowledgment

Thank you to Jamie Cunningham for use of her photo, featured above.  This gorgeous image of Bayou Bartholomew has been on exhibit in the past at the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas.  It represents so well the arts, including artistic photography, and nature in the area, thus overlapping with the themes of all these events in one way or another.  Ms. Cunningham is a native of Plum Bayou (Jefferson County) near Pine Bluff; she still visits the Pine Bluff area, often capturing beautiful photographs of people and nature in the area.
