February of 2019 offers a variety of celebrations and activities on its menu. Make a point to hear Marc Morial speak at UAPB’s annual Black History Month Assembly. Also enjoy the ongoing blues jams, children’s crafts, youth theatre workshop, and art exhibits available in Pine Bluff this month.

Port City Blues Society:  Open Blues Jam

  • Wednesday evenings
  • Jam or listen, join in any time from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.
  • Enjoy performers or be the local music scene by jamming with them!

Second Saturday Family Funday: T-Shirt Screen printing

  • Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 South Main Street in PB
  • This month’s Funday: t-shirt screen printing with artist Dustyn Bork
  • FREE activity
  • Family and adult chaperones welcome.

Black History Month Assembly / Presentation

  • Keynote speaker: Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League
  • Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 11:00 a.m.
  • University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, STEM Conference Center
  • Free event that is open to the publicP

The Stage Theatre Makerspace: Youth Workshop

  • Last Saturday of the Month from January through April. So the first one coming up is January 26, 2019.
  • Time slot is 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC), 701 South Main Street in PB
  • For ages 13 through 17
  • Workshop is free BUT registration is required. Call Lindsey Collins at 870-536-3375 or email lcollins@asc701.org for more information.
